What We Do
It might be easier to state what we don’t do. Our work impacts on all areas of society and covers a diverse range of disciplines – quantity surveying, facilities management, construction, finance and engineering included.
We provide a broad range of business, transport and construction services to commercial and public sector clients in the UK, Sweden, Canada and the Middle East. The construction and support services sectors are continuously changing, driven by technical developments as well as commercial and public demands for service, sustainability, safety and quality.
We have developed the ability not only to design and build new projects, but also to look after them in the long term. In fact, Carillion was one of the first companies to recognise the importance of combining construction excellence with a long-term service commitment to our clients and the wider community.
For example, we not only build new roads but provide planned and emergency maintenance for many years. As well as building innovative new hospitals we also deliver essential non-clinical support services for years to come. And our specialist teams not only install technical systems for offices or laboratories, but also take care of future upgrades.
As a result of this integrated approach, our portfolio today includes many of the most high profile and challenging projects in the UK and overseas. Projects like the Tate Modern in London and Liverpool’s Albert Dock, the government’s new communications centre (GCHQ) and the £363m extension of the East London Rail Line.
