SkyBlue scoops Community award - 03/12/2009

The Diversity & Equality Manager for one of the UK's top recruitment firms SkyBlue, has scooped the Best Contribution in the Community award at the Institute of Recruitment Professionals annual awards ceremony in London.

The judges said: 'Dave Massingham stood out from the rest of the shortlist by engaging with areas of the community being overlooked in the employment market and his diversity vision has led SkyBlue to be viewed as an industry leader in the field of diversity and equality with Dave regularly being asked to attend briefings at Government level.'
More than 340 guests attended the ceremony and dinner held at the Honourable Artillery Company, which was also the venue for the Recruitment & Employment Confederation's (REC) first-ever National Convention.
"This is a wonderful achievement in what has turned out to be a very successful year for SkyBlue having also won Recruiter Magazine's Best Construction Recruitment award," said Mr Massingham.
"Our mission was to explore and harness the positive aspects of diversity and equality for our clients and the people we place into work every day we've come a long way in just 18 months since I was appointed Diversity & Equality Manager."
With Dave's knowledge and expertise in the field, SkyBlue has become one of the leaders in promoting the benefits of implementing diversity fully into the workplace. He has also helped SkyBlue to achieve the Recruitment and Confederation's (REC) Diversity Assured Status - a first for a national recruitment firm.
"I feel honoured to have won such an award, but this would not have been possible without the support, understanding and hard work of the entire SkyBlue team."
