Education
Carillion has built, or we are in the process of building, some
150 new or refurbished schools and academies. Many of these have
been Public Private Partnership
(PPP) projects.
Health
We have delivered 13 PPP hospitals with two more PPP hospitals
under construction, notably the new Southmead Hospital in
Bristol.
Roads
We hold contracts for the Highways Agency's Managed Motorways
programme as well as long-term maintenance contracts. A recent
project has been the upgrade of the A1 in Yorkshire to motorway
standards.
Rail
We have the capability to build or maintain all elements of rail
infrastructure. We recently completed the East London Line with a
joint venture partner. Past projects include the Channel Tunnel,
Docklands Light Railway and the North London Line.
Civil Engineering
We cover all types of civil engineering works, from flood defences
to transport improvements, and from airports to industrial
projects. We have pioneered the use of partnership and framework
agreements.
Commercial buildings
We have built many iconic buildings over decades, as Carillion
brings together the heritage of Tarmac, Wimpey, Mowlem and Alfred
McAlpine.
Industrial
buildings
Our record includes power stations, smelters, oil terminals, and
the distinctive buildings of the Eden Project in Cornwall.
Military accommodation
Currently we are building two major PPP projects for the UK
Ministry of Defence: Allenby Connaught, which involves building and
refurbishing Army accommodation, and the Royal School of Military
Engineering.
