Carillion's innovative services for properties and facilities are fully integrated. Our people have a passion for creating and delivering solutions that truly enhance the customer experience.

In total, we provide facilities management and other support services for over 100,000 properties. This includes 43,000 houses for the Ministry of Defence, 8,000 properties for BT and more than 3,000 retail banking branches. To enable us to do this, we employ 13,000 people in our facilities management business.

We are a truly integrated provider of facilities management services that we primarily self deliver to enhance the customer experience. These services include cleaning, catering, reception duties, IT support, portering, housekeeping, security as well as building fabric and associated mechanical and electrical engineering work.

Customers across the public and private sectors

Some of our customers are hospitals, schools, and other organisations whose buildings have been constructed by Carillion; they rely on our integrated solutions to support the whole life of their properties. We are one of the leading providers of facilities management to the NHS and the largest single provider to the Ministry of Defence.

Many other customers are organisations who have realised the benefits of outsourcing the servicing of their property estates with Carillion. They can optimise costs and focus on their core activities. Carillion is particularly strong in the financial services, media and technology sectors. For example, we provide integrated facilities management for Virgin Media, Siemens, Centrica, Bank of Ireland and the Nationwide Building Society.

Transforming delivery

Carillion always starts with a crystal clear understanding of our customers' requirements and the needs of the people who actually use the buildings.

We identify key elements of performance and continually improve them in innovative ways; for example introducing lower cost methods of ordering supplies, switching to more efficient shift rosters, or re-organising maintenance staff into a mobile workforce across different properties.

We then keep rolling out value initiatives which, when brought together, form radical step changes in professionalism and consistency. Carillion continuously provides clients with real-time data about our performance, further building partnership and trust.

The overall result is a transformation of customers' experience enabled by our staff's engagement and our processes in the areas of quality, risk management, simplification and cost optimisation.

Carillion's facilities management is augmented by our services in project management, corporate real estate, and workspace design and utilisation to address the total occupancy cost.

Add to this our expertise in maintaining property: we are one of the UK's top three suppliers of mechanical and electrical engineering (M&E) services with the benefit of accessing our sister division Carillion Energy Services to drive resilience whilst reducing carbon footprint.

With this breadth of support services, plus our scale as a sector leader, we are able to provide truly innovative and sustainable solutions which add real value to our customers' businesses.
