Infrastructure Services

Carillion's infrastructure services cover every phase of life of infrastructure assets. Our ability to combine capabilities within fully integrated, nationwide solutions is a key strength that helps differentiate us from our competitors.

Roads

In the UK, Carillion is one of the Highways Agency's four delivery partners for the Managed Motorway national framework. Managed Motorways actively control traffic flow through variable speed limits and use of the hard shoulder as well as other innovative procedures.

Carillion also provides integrated management and maintenance services for other motorways and trunk roads. We provide similar services for a number of Local Highway Authorities.

In Canada, Carillion is the country's largest provider of outsourced highway maintenance services. We have particularly strong positions in Ontario, through our subsidiary TWD Roads Management, and in Alberta. Our contracts cover year-round routine maintenance as well as preventative maintenance services.

Railways

Carillion has been selected by Network Rail as one of the contractors to deliver infrastructure services under a £750 million Multi Asset Framework Agreement. Our services include design, delivery, testing and commissioning.

We completed the East London Line in 2010 with a joint venture partner. This complex project, worth a total of £363 million, required the deployment of our wide range of capabilities as well as Carillion's strong project management skills.

Public utility services

We are particularly strong in the telecommunications sector where a Carillion-led joint venture has a seven-year contract to provide nationwide asset management and maintenance services for Openreach, BT's local access network business. The contract is worth over £1 billion to Carillion.

Carillion is one of the UK's largest providers of gas connection services. We also deliver infrastructure services for sub-stations and cabling to support the electricity network. 

Consultancy business

Our consultancy business provides engineering and architectural design and project management services. These capabilities also play an important role in supporting the delivery of integrated solutions for buildings and infrastructure, particularly for Public Private Partnerships.
