Financial Reporting of PFI

• Debt Raised

The Group’s financial exposure to the external borrowing in a particular SPC is limited to its equity interest in that particular SPC and therefore reporting the debt raised is not a requirement in the plc accounts. However, Carillion has disclosed this information to ensure transparency.

• SPC Investment

Returns from Carillion’s activities at SPC level are received in the form of a market rate of interest and principle repayment on the subordinated debt and dividends from the shares subscription. This information is reported in the Investments stream of Carillion’s business.

• Service Provider

Revenue and margin from the operating contract are reported through the Support Services business stream of the company.

• Design & Construction

Revenue and margin from the Construction contract are reported within the Construction Services business stream of the company.
