University of the West of England

Students at the University of the West of England are enjoying life on the prestigious new student village at the University’s Frenchay Campus in Bristol.

Carillion was the main contractor for the £76 million project which includes new sports facilities and accommodation for nearly 2,000 students.

The project is one of the first student accommodation schemes to be delivered under the new Building Regulations and draws on the latest best practice in terms of accessibility, acoustics, security and sustainability.

The student village will provide environmental and economic benefits through energy efficiency. The residences are arranged to receive maximum sunlight throughout the year and are naturally ventilated. Insulation levels minimise heat loss through the fabric of the building and maximise temperature stability.
