North Staffordshire resignalling

Carillion is helping to improve rail journeys and as part of the West Coast Route Modernisation project, Carillion formed an alliance with Railtrack and WS Atkins, to deliver essential resignalling works in North Staffordshire.

The project was primarily to resignal the section of two track railway between Congleton and Colwich and included within the scope was plain line renewal works and overhead line modifications.

The project was awarded the HSBC Rail Business Award for ‘Infrastructure Excellence of the Year 2002.’
