Welcome to Carillion’s 2001 web based Sustainability
Report ‘Sustainable Solutions for the way we live’.
We have been reporting our environmental
performance since 1994 and have now progressed to provide
this our second full sustainability report. This report will
provide information on our environmental, social and economic
performance during 2001 and covers all our operating businesses
both within the UK and overseas. The report will enable you
to view some of the projects where we have positively influenced
the built environment and will allow you to review our performance
against our improvement objectives and targets.
As a construction to services
company we hope that this report will demonstrate that Carillion
has been able to enhance the built environment and hence quality
of life by implementing our sustainability programme.
We believe that providing this
detailed web based report is essential to allow us to provide
an appropriate level of transparency and detail and most importantly
to communicate effectively with our stakeholders.
To enable easy access to the
sections of the report that you wish to view we have provided
a detailed search engine. In addition our navigation tool
is situation on the left of the screen and we have provided
a detailed site
map.
However, we appreciate that not
all our stakeholders are keen to read about our performance
in great detail or on the Internet, therefore we have also
published 16-page sustainability
review which can be easily downloaded
and printed. In addition, our Annual
Report and Accounts includes a 4-page summary of our sustainability performance in 2001.
In order that we can continue
to enhance the way in which we provide information to stakeholders,
we would appreciate you taking the time to complete our

details of our performance.
