Customers
We seek to achieve customer satisfaction; indeed it is our intention to exceed customer expectations.
We will continue to work with our customers and partners to help us understand how by working together we can deliver more sustainable solutions. We believe that by working closely with all our customers we add value to our products and services, while enhancing the environment and respecting our people and the communities in which we work. We also believe that by demonstrating the business benefits of sustainable development we will differentiate Carillion from our competitors. Please refer to our shareholder section of this report for information on developing the business case for sustainable development.
We aim to deliver our services on time and on budget and to our customers satisfaction. For example, the £98million Great Western Hospital project was delivered on time and on budget. In addition, we have been able to save a projected £1.8million in costs during the lifetime of the building. We designed the hospital to consume 30% less energy and emit 35% less carbon dioxide compared to a typical existing hospital, therefore, providing added benefits to our clients.
The following are quotations from clients and industry bodies;
'Carillion have worked closely with us at the Royal Parks to help implement sustainable development techniques in the work we undertake together. To help promote our partnering approach to sustainable development, Carillion held a workshop for staff from both organisations to communicate the sustainability issues that we could improve together. We are now using the output from the workshop to develop longer-term targets for us to work on jointly.' Mike J Fitt Director of Parks and Deputy Chief Executive The Royal Parks.
'Carillion has been an active member of The Pioneers Club and has been a key element of the clubs success through their willingness to share their experiences of adapting their organisation to the challenges of sustainability and the corresponding data collection needs. There is obviously a comprehensive understanding of the issues involved in sustainable development'. Robert Cameron Construction Industry Research and Information Association.
We continue to measure our customer satisfaction within each of our businesses and our current levels of customer satisfaction within the business group’s range from 65% to 87%.
