Our Next Steps
Our sustainability programme in 2004 will continue to focus on consolidating the activities, successes, lessons learned and innovations to date. As well as sharing our successes we need to seek to learn from the areas where we have been less successful and find new and innovative ways to solve the sustainability issues that we encounter in our every day activities. We will be promoting our vision and achievements and encouraging people to embrace sustainable principles during our Sustainability Week in June 2004, for more details click here.
Jonathon Porritt and David Cowans our two external advisors outline their view of the future challenges facing Carillion.

2004 Objectives and targets:
During 2003 we have been developing our sustainability model to ensure we are addressing our key impacts and developing the business case for sustainability.
• This will be driven by our Corporate Strategic Objectives and Targets, for full details click here.
• Each Business Group has developed sustainability targets, cascading the corporate targets throughout the business and set targets for their own business needs:
• Carillion Health: 2004 Targets
• Carillion Roads: 2004 Targets
• Carillion Services. 2004 Targets
It is also important that our projects and contracts set targets that reflect project demands as well as those at corporate and business level. For an example of objectives and targets set out in the tender stage of a roads project click here. |
