Climate change and energy

“Climate Change is the most important environmental issue facing the world today”

Quotation taken from Securing the Future –The UK Government Sustainable Development Strategy.

The biggest contributor towards the adverse affects caused by global warming is believed to be the rising levels of CO2 in the atmosphere.

To reduce our impact on Climate Change we have targets in place to achieve smarter vehicle mileage and for all our offices to meet the Econ 19 Good Practice standard. We believe that if we want to make a difference in this area we must work on incorporating sustainable solutions into the design of our buildings, this way we will be addressing the need to reduce our impact by designing out high energy consuming resources/products.

The statement below is taken from our sustainability policy and shows our commitment to reduce the amount of energy we consume.

Climate Change and Energy:

“We will work to reduce our impact on climate change by minimising our use of energy”.

The two impact areas below are identified as those areas where we can do something about reducing energy levels in our buildings and in our fleet. The two areas also form part of the Carillion “Sun diagram”, click on the links below to learn more about them.
