Home Executive Summary About Carillion Our Sustainability Programme 2005 Performance

Sustainable consumption and production

“We will work with our customers and suppliers to achieve ‘more with less’, through more efficient use of human and material resources, considering life cycle impacts, and delivering sustainable, profitable and socially beneficial impacts”.

Sustainable Consumption and Production is about achieving economic growth whilst respecting environmental limits, finding ways to minimise damage to the natural world and making use of the earth's resources in a sustainable way. Understanding the factors that cause such changes is vital if strategies and policies are to be developed that can support changes in behaviour that lead to more sustainable systems of consumption and production.

We have identified three impact areas that can help us achieve our vision with Sustainable Consumption and Production. These three areas complete the Carillion “Sun diagram”.
