Climate Change and Energy

Climate change is described as the most serious long-term threat to our prosperity and way of life.

The 2007 report of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) stated that warming of the climate system is unequivocal and that the role of human activities in the observed changes is now clearer than ever. The cost of inaction now outweighs the costs of actions.

Our policies addressing the behaviours and activities that impact on our performance in this area are as follows:

We will actively reduce our use of energy and emissions of greenhouse gases in
transport, design, construction, maintenance, and in the operation of our facilities.

Sustainability will be a key objective of our designs. We will achieve excellence in
lifecycle design and exceed our customer expectations by delivering more cost
effective sustainable solutions.
