In 2009, for the first time, we submitted our data to the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).

Climate change and energy

Major cuts to greenhouse gas emissions are needed to reverse the current trend in global warming. No one sector of society can do it alone: all of us need to play our part and for business that means making significant changes to the way we operate. Recognising the scale of change needed, we set ourselves a challenging target in 2007: to halve our carbon emissions per £ million of turnover by the end of 2010, compared to 2006 levels. (Carbon dioxide or CO2 is the most abundant greenhouse gas produced by human activity, so contribution to climate change is typically measured in terms of carbon emissions.) We have produced a detailed strategy and are on our way to meeting the target by December 2010.
