Creating a diverse business

Janet Dawson, Chief Human Resources Officer

Our people do the everyday things which make a big difference.

Our teams are made up of people from all walks of life and it’s their diverse backgrounds and perspectives that help us to think differently.

We see this as a key strength, helping to turn our ideas and experience into better solutions and services for our customers and the communities where we live and work.

Celebrating our differences

Equality, diversity and inclusion at Carillion is about creating a culture and workplace that celebrates our differences and offers the same opportunities to all of our people to develop their talents and progress.

We have developed a range of programmes and networks to help make Carillion a more diverse, inclusive and supportive place for our people.

These include Connect, Carillion’s LGBT group, SNOWE, our Support Network for Operational Women in Engineering, and our Working Mums and Dads’ networks.

More networks are forming and 2017 will see the launch of our Diversity Council.

An inclusive workplace

In summary, a diverse range of perspectives, languages, abilities and cultures helps us build stronger teams, make better decisions and support our customers more effectively.

Our commitment to diversity is long term – and I will personally continue to champion the continued development of our inclusive workplace that celebrates differences and provides opportunity for all.
