Carillion is building a new school for The Heath School in Runcorn. The school is capturing the progress of work through stills and video images. The latest time-lapse shows how well the project is progressing.
Work started last August and a turf cutting ceremony was held to mark the event. The new school will replace the current buildings, which, will be demolished. The comprehensive school has 1,100 pupils and work is due to be completed for the start of 2018
Once completed the new building will provide the school with state of the art classrooms, a sports and community centre, activity hall, dance and drama studios and cafeteria. The building will also include a new Sixth Form Centre and specialist laboratories, workshops and classrooms. Outside their will be new tennis courts, multi-use games areas (MUGA’s) and external dining terrace. Once complete the school will be able to accommodate 1,250 pupils, including the Sixth Form.
